This procurement is a covered procurement and is therefore subject to the provisions of one, or several of the Free Trade Agreements listed at the bottom of this page.

The procuring entity reserves the right to conduct negotiations with tenderers during this procurement process.

The purpose of this Request for Tender is to undertake a competitive selection process to select a contractor to deliver upgrades to the Tasman Highway (A0113) and Coles Bay Road.

The works are located on the sections between Lynes Creek, South of the Coles Bay junction and Bicheno, and a back-to-back S-Bend north of the Glen Gala overtaking lanes.

These works are part of the Great Eastern Drive Tourism Support Program which serves to provide upgrades to this high priority section on the east coast of Tasmania.

  • The following conditions for participation apply:
  • 1. The Tenderer must be prequalified under the prequalification scheme(s) noted in Attachment 7 to RFT Volume 1, in the applicable prequalification categories specified by the Principal in the relevant table in Attachment 7 to RFT Volume 1, to a financial level equal to or higher than the greater of:
  • (a) the applicable financial level specified by the Principal in the relevant table in Attachment 7 to RFT Volume 1; and
  • (b) the value of the Works (as specified by the Tenderer in the declaration included in the Tender in response to Attachment 7 to RFT Volume 1) which are relevant to the applicable prequalification category.
  • 2. If the Tenderer is a corporation, the Tenderer must not be an externally administered body corporate (as defined in section 9 of the Corporations Act).
  • 3. If the Tenderer is a subsidiary of another body corporate (for the purposes of the Corporations Act), that other body corporate must not be an externally administered body corporate (as defined in section 9 of the Corporations Act).
  • 4. If the Tenderer is a corporation, the Tenderer must have the corporate power to enter into, and perform, the Contract.
  • 5. If the Tenderer is an individual, the Tenderer must not be an insolvent under administration (as defined in section 9 of the Corporations Act).
  • Note: If the Tender is a Joint Bid, each of the conditions for participation apply separately in relation to each entity forming part of the Joint Bid.
  • Roads and Bridges
  • Only Contractors prequalified with the Department of State Growth under the National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction Contracts in the Category of R3 with a Financial Level of F10, or higher, are eligible to tender for this project.
