The Department of Health intends to procure services to develop and deliver a statewide population health campaign addressing sun exposure and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
The service will support implementation of The Health Revolution – Our Pathway for Living Well in Tasmania 2026–2046 and Tasmania’s broader approach to cancer prevention and reducing preventable harm associated with UV exposure.
The anticipated service will provide a coordinated statewide approach to skin cancer prevention through public health communication, education and behaviour-change activity.
The campaign will aim to increase awareness of the health risks associated with harmful UV exposure and support Tasmanians to adopt appropriate sun-protective behaviours.
The anticipated services will include campaign strategy and planning, development and production of campaign materials, delivery across appropriate media and communication channels, audience targeting and engagement, and monitoring and evaluation of campaign reach and effectiveness.
The procurement is intended to establish a sustained statewide approach that makes effective use of existing evidence-based national campaigns, resources and materials where appropriate, avoiding unnecessary duplication and maximising the value of available funding. These resources may be adapted or supplemented with Tasmania-specific content to reflect local UV conditions, seasonal patterns, community attitudes and behaviours, priority populations and other factors relevant to effective sun protection in Tasmania.
