TMD provides whole-of-Government services to Government agencies, on a cost recovery basis. TMD has implemented a Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) platform which consolidates approximately 45,000 objects from 10 State Government Agency Active Directories Management Agents into one central resource forest called Connect. Connect is intended to become a foundation layer for achieving common authentication of applications across Government.

TMD also provides system administration of whole of government human resources and reporting IT services, including payroll, to most government agencies. These systems cover around 27,000 employees.

The proof of concept has a two-fold purpose:
  • Build a business intelligence platform using two different whole of Government datasets that integrates TMD’s Microsoft identity tool (Forefront Identity Manager - FIM) with the Microsoft reporting tools (SQL Server Reporting Service/ SharePoint); and,
  • Create a model for future integrations of the whole-of-Government identity platform (TMD FIM) for other applications.
