Construction of 5 GETSmart homes at 33-37 Kenbrae Avenue, Glenorchy. Two key principals of GETSmart Homes are Adaptable and Sustainable housing. houses built on level blocks, with easy access to community services; open plan rooms that provide circulation space; reduced hallways resulting in reduced building, furnishing and heating costs; level entrances, with steps, making it easier and safer for older people and families with babies or young children; larger garaging areas providing extra utility or workshop space; larger bedrooms; wider doorways, making it easier to move furniture around the home; hobless showers; and power points and switches at accessible heights, which are easier for everyone to use and safer for young children.
