Under the Biosecurity Tasmania’s Detector Dog Improvement Plan, dog training and management services are required for detector dogs used at traveller and freight entry points to Tasmania.

The dog training and management service is a standing offer arrangement. 

The service's aims are to improve detector dog capabilities, support greater flexibility and provide a more effective operating model, led by best in class and contemporary detector dog deployment, including procurement of new dogs and rehoming of retired dogs
