This contract provides for the development of design guidelines for medium density residential development in greater Hobart for the purposes of achieving key outcomes of the ‘Greater Hobart Plan’, and includes:

• undertaking a literature review of current best practice in urban residential or urban design guidelines;
• undertaking an analysis of existing or potential constraints;
• developing a targeted engagement strategy and undertaking consultation with key stakeholders, including industry and peak bodies; and
• producing the following documents:
  • detailed publicly informed Medium Density Residential Development Design Guidelines (Design Guidelines);
  • an appropriately illustrated explanatory document, ultimately intended for public release, which summarises the Design Guidelines; and
  • a background report which details how the Design Guidelines have been prepared and tasks within the Brief undertaken, including the literature review and constraints analysis.
