The Macquarie Point Development Corporation has appointed AECOM via direct sourcing to complete any outstanding program of remediation consultancy works required to achieve Environmental Auditor sign-off of Audit Areas 3, 4 East, 6 and Waste Water Treatment Plant investigations. The Corporation has worked with AECOM for six years, from which AECOM have developed a significant amount of detailed intellectual property that is aligned with developing a consistent approach to achieving Environmental Auditor sign-off for the remainder of site remediation. AECOM is the only consultancy that has the full, detailed knowledge and understanding of the nature and extent of the contamination and the remediation methodologies and technologies to ensure that the Corporation can achieve sign-off for those areas of the site that are suitable for development in a timely manner. If the Corporation was to proceed to engage a different consultant through an open tender process, it would practically be impossible for other bidders to compete because AECOM have an unrivalled knowledge and understanding of the site and has informed all documentation and positions of the Corporation.

The Corporation has assessed as satisfactory AECOM's work undertaken to date and has identified an ongoing requirement for a further 36 months of remediation consultancy works to ensure the Corporation is able to achieve independent Environmental Auditor sign-off of the site as development ready. This work relates to Audit Areas 3, 4 East, 6 and Waste Water Treatment Plant investigations.
