The Department of Health seeks to initiate a Request for Tender to engage a suitable building contractor for the construction of the new Northern Mental Health Precinct at the Launceston General Hospital, 52 Frankland Street, South Launceston ('LGH').

The new precinct will feature a mental health in-patient unit to replace the current Northside Unit in the LGH main campus and provide essential community mental health services including a 30-bed dedicated urgent care unit, a Recovery College and a Safe Haven.

The Northern Mental Health Precinct is being delivered as part of 'Stage Two' of the broader Launceston General Hospital Precinct Masterplan.

$58,500,000 for NPS and $50,000,000 (max level) for DTF Scheme
  • Only Contractors prequalified with the Department of Treasury and Finance Prequalification Scheme and the National Prequalification Scheme are eligible to tender. Tenderers must be prequalified at or above the financial limit specified, or to a value equal to or greater than the tendered price.
