The aim of the Tender is to add additional Southern facilitators to the current panel to deliver Community Conference (CC) facilitation services and Family Group Conference (FGC) facilitation services as required by the Children and Youth Services unit.

Family Group Conferencing is a process by which parents, family members and community members work with Child Safety Services to develop and review plans for children and young people who have been identified as being at risk of abuse or neglect.  Community Conferencing aims to intervene early to direct young people away from court’s criminal justice system by addressing the underlying causes of their offending behaviour.  The role of the facilitator, who must remain neutral, is to invite attendees, prepare attendees for the conference, facilitate the conference and write up the outcomes arising from the conference.

Tenderers will be able to tender for either the provision of Family Group Conference facilitation services, Community Conference facilitation services, or both.  People from Aboriginal or CALD backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Current suppliers already on the panel (from tender DHHS-5762S) are not required to re-tender.

  • Tenderers must:
  • Hold, provide evidence that they have applied for, or be willing to apply for at their own cost, a current Tasmanian Working with Children Check;
  • Hold, provide evidence that they have applied for, or be willing to apply for a current National Police Check at their own cost, covering crimes of violence, sex related offences, serious drug offences and crimes involving dishonesty;
  • Be willing to undergo a Proof of Identity Check (100-Point Identification Check) if they have not previously undergone a Departmental check of this nature. This involves a Department representative sighting a combination of the Tenderer's identification documents and signing an acknowledgement form, which is then retained by the Department;
  • Be willing to undertake all mandatory training, mentoring and observation requirements, at their own cost and in their own unpaid time, should they be nominated for appointment to the panel and have not previously met these requirements.
