The Tasmanian Government invites Expressions of Interest from persons interested in exploring the development potential for the operation and enhancement of visitor facilities, involving significant capital investment, at the Cape Bruny Light Station (the Site), with a view to securing a lease for the long term operation and management of the Site.
The Site, part of the South Bruny National Park, is situated on the southerly end of Bruny Island, approximately two hours south of Hobart.
The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment offers this prime coastal heritage Site that provides a variety of business opportunities in one of Tasmania’s fastest growing regions.
The Site offers stunning coastal views of the Southern Ocean and rugged coastline. The Site is open to the public, and currently offers provision for accommodation and lighthouse tours. There is opportunity to explore further development potential to enhance these and other activities, while preserving and presenting the historic heritage of the Site.
There will be an on-site inspection day for interested parties on Wednesday the 11th of July 2012 (registration required).
