This procurement is a covered procurement and is therefore subject to the provisions of one, or several of the Free Trade Agreements listed at the bottom of this page.

The procuring entity reserves the right to conduct negotiations with tenderers during this procurement process.

Tenders will be invited from boat builder contractors for the design, construction and delivery of a fit-for-purpose multi-purpose Police Patrol Vessel.  The vessel will be:

  1. Between 11.5 metres and 11.99 metres in measured length
  2. Fibreglass reinforced plastic construction
  3. Monohull design
  4. Propelled by two diesel engines, and
  5. Designed and constructed to meet AMSA 2B Survey requirements

     

    The vessel will have the following operational functions:

  • Search and rescue response
  • Marine Safety enforcement – including intercepting, boarding and inspection of recreational and commercial vessels
  • Protection of State marine and fisheries resources, - including patrols to enforce the provisions of the Living Marine Resource Management Act 1995 and subordinate legislation, which include patrolling Commonwealth and State Marine Reserves
  • Medical evacuations and transportation of sick and injured persons
  • Transportation and movement of people and equipment
  • Assisting and/or towing damaged or disabled vessels
  • Diving and body recovery platform
  • Support for aerial operations, and
  • State security marine operations platform.

  • The Department will only be engaging a primary boat builder who will be responsible for all aspects of the design, construction, fitout, trialling and delivery of the PPV.
