Crown Contracts Confidentiality Policy
The Crown Contracts Confidentiality Policy provides that Government contracts must not contain provisions protecting confidentiality of any information, unless a Standing Committee comprising the Secretaries of the Departments of Treasury and Finance, Premier and Cabinet and Justice or, where necessary, the Department of Health and Human Services as an alternative, approves an exemption.
Unless an exemption is granted, agencies must publish all procurement contracts over $2 million on the Tenders website or, if that is not practicable, provide details of who to contact to obtain a copy of the contract. In most cases, these contracts can be found under the Awarded Contracts section of this website.
The following table provides details of purchases in excess of $2 million made under Panel contract arrangements. In these instances, the lead agency has undertaken a tender process and entered into contracts with a number of providers for the provision of goods and services, and agencies raise purchase orders with one or more of these suppliers when particular goods and services are required.
